Indeed we do! Some people explain it as "the grid" or "the pack "(as in a beer pack). However, you will find that one time or another others who have learnt a language has used a similar system to make the learning process easier. I did on my own to learn english, french and other languages. So, How does this system work?

In English, the subject is a word used in place of a noun: She threw a ball. (The girl threw the ball.).

- When a male is in a group of females, the masculine plural form is used:
Nosotros somos estudiantes de español.(We are Spanish students- all females and one male student or all male students.
Nosotras somos estudiantes de español. We are Spanish students- all female students and no males). - In Spanish, there is no equivalent for "it".
- When do you use tu or usted?
persons by using their names then it is alright to use "tu".
Usted: use the usted form when the relationship is formal such as people whom you call by
their title and last name ( Sr. Sanchez, profesora gutierrez). Also, you would use
the usted form with people you do not know well.
4. Please note that in some countries the plural of usted is ustedes and of tu is
ustedes. In other countries like Spain, the plural of tu is vosotros/vosotras.
5. Once in a while you will see abbreviations of usted and ustedes that look like
the following:
Usted (Ud. or Vd.)
Ustedes (Uds. Vds.)
Until next time, remember that the abbreviations are read as usted and ustedes and not /ud/ and /uds/.
